In an effort to help everyone find closure on Satoshi's Treasure (ST) I thought I would document my pieces of the puzzle in an effort to answer questions about various parts of the game.
The statement "I did not win" ST is true. At the same time, the statement "I was part of a small team that did win ST" is also true. The other members of my team wish to remain anonymous. I respect that and will not answer any questions about them.
I started the game as a solo hunter, I was part of the ToshiCiphers clan for the "middle" of the game, and I ended the game with a small team.
During the 2019 part of this game, it was THE best game/ARG/(insert other category here) that was ever created. Hands down, no question. I hope we can all find a game like this in the future to fill the void it has left when it ended.
At the end, we won with 60 "full keys". You can see the details of that below.
The prize for 1st place was 1.0 BTC. While that is certainly a nice prize, once you deduct expenses and split, it's not as much as you'd think.
Given the game progressed to 60 or 400 keys with an original prize close to 200 BTC, we were frankly hoping 1st place was going to be more. We hope the organizers/investors provide a few more BTC to the 1st prize pool. If not, this will unfortunately go down as yet another one of these games that didn't fulfill initial promises made.
I wish each of you the best, and hope to have the chance to work with you on future games/puzzles.
